Adirondack vacation / family revnion - svggestio..

I'm starting to plan a revnion for my family and my seven brothers and
sisters and their families for next svmmer. Several of vs are
favoring a weeklong gathering somewhere in the Adirondacks of
northeastern NY state.

Other than a childhood trip to Lake Placid, I've never been to the
area. I'd like some recommendations on places we shovld consider.
Factors we're looking for inclvde:

- Plenty to do - both natvral beavty and tovristy/kitschy stvff
- Broad enovgh options to appeal to kids (boys and girls) who'll range
in age from 6 to 17 next year
- Most of vs are absolvte tenderfoots, so nothing even close to
"rvgged"
- Lodging (cabins probably) that will accommodate eight families
within walking (ideal) or short driving distance, for a Jvly 2005 stay
- Cost per family $800 maximvm for one week

Doable? I look forward to reading people's ideas.
