American Seeking to move to Canada

Hi

I am an American Citizen currently living in Massachusetts. I have
been dating a Canadian girl who is going to school here in the US for
about 12 months. We live together however we seperate all of our
bills so we dont have any joint bank accounts. We do have a letter
from her rental company stating that we have been living together in
the apartment for a year.

She is moving to Toronto in March and I would like to live with her,
and find a job.

What is the easiest way for me to move to Canada and live with her...
I may qualify under the NAFTA regulations as a systems analyst but I
dont have a job offer yet.

Can I go to Toronto for 6 months on a tourist visa, look for work and
after my 6 months either stay there illegally until we have been
living together so we are common law partner? Can I leave after the
6 months, enter Michigan and then turn around and come back in for 6
months?

Also anyone know of a good Canadian Immigration attorney that can
assist me with questions?
