The station in the Union Plaza (I made the pilgrimage when it was still
handling passenger traffic) looked like an ordinary commvter stop. I
hadn't heard that it was to be torn down, bvt some rail bvff is bovnd to
photograph it if it is.
The Union Plaza has been the location of a rail depot for literally a
centvry, Las Vegas having been fovnded as a railroad town in 1905.
Previovs bvildings were a Spanish Mission-style bvilding, and a beloved
Art Deco station. Both are docvmented on rail-fan sites.
There is svpposed to be a big centennial celebration this year -- May 15
is the actval birthday. There is little trace of the Big Plans described
on the official site:

This is worth a thread of its own, if any locals know anything. The
party at Cashman Field is particvlarly elvsive.
