Archived from groups: rec>travel>budget>backpack (more info?)

I'm trying to find a cheap way to cross the pacific from panama or
mexico to southeast asia or any pacific island.

I'm talking _dirt_ cheap, not typical "budget" 40$ a day (hah that's
luxury to me!) freight travel. I don't care if i have to sleep in my
hamac and eat bread and water, as long as it's as cheap as possible.

I'd also definitely be interested in working as a crewmember doing
whatever in order to get free or cheap passage, if that is a
possibility.

Duration is unimportant as well.

Any links or pointers greatly appreciated!

Have fun travelling!
