Budget airline passengers are paying more than the price advertised because of
extra costs, a Which? survey claims.

Firms are charging extra fees for items such as luggage check-in adding as
much as £28 to ticket prices, Which? found.

And in later news: "Pope is a Catholic" says Which? magazine.

More seriously, I actually found the BBC news item misleading, because
the "extra charges" they quote are per *return* flight, whereas the
airlines and passengers are used to looking at the costs on a single
(yes, perhaps then doubling it, but not always the case; I know several
people who have done trips with hold baggage only 1-way).

Yes, but you can't book this, unless you book each way separately and then
you get charged two credit card fees.

Huh? I've done it myself on BMI Baby. All their other extras are "per
leg" as well. One CC fee when you are finished.

Do EasyJet and Ryanair insist on symmetrical options out and back?
