Heading to NYC in mid_May for daughter's graduation. Thought we'd visit the local mountains. We are hikers who love to stay in quiet area cabins and B&Bs near hiking trails. Lakeside would be nice, but close proximity to good hiking is preferred. Please recommend some good accommodations. Also, should we take the train to Poughkeepsie or Hudson, then pick up a car rental there before heading into the hills??
