I had good luck using Secret Harbor as a base, and making day
trips to Coki and Sapphire.
Coki is quite crowded, and as you get away from the crowd you get
to the areas which are roped off for the reef experience business.
Still a lot of good stuff, though.
Secret Harbor certainly had a lot to look at. I did see eagle rays
and sting rays, squid, huge parrot fish, those huge blue queen angel
fish.
One day after a storm, Secret Harbor was chewed up so badly I could
not see my hand in front of my face. After getting banged up a bit
getting back out of the water, I drove over to Sapphire, which has to
be less than two miles away, and it was clear as glass there. The
good coral is along the rocky shore off to the right as you're facing
the
water, but the large grasslands more to the middle of the beach turned
out to be a great place for finding eagle rays, stingrays, and
turtles.
I also saw anemones, tons of christmas tree worms, and a one to two
inch
brightly colored coral crab.
You definitely get rewarded for following the rocky shorelines away
from
the beach.
cheers,
