Can anyone explain the logic of not allowing the airport car park transfer
buses to drop off at the terminals? From T2 long stay they dropped me off at
the train station the other week, which is alomost as long a walk as from
the car park itself. Do they think their own drivers are terrorists? If so,
why is the train station immune from the threat? How come I can drive my car
into the car park and park it 5m from the drop off zone? Does anyone
actually think these ideas through?

The Glasgow airport attack was done from the bus/taxi zone. I don't
think terrorists are worried about ignoring the odd "buses only" sign.

Most security precautions of this kind seem to be "fighting the last
war" (rather than the next one), but we don't really want to encourage
the *entire* airport becoming a no-go zone.

No. You sometimes feel that the Powers That Be would be a lot happier if
these pesky passengers were barred from airports altogether.
