Archived from groups: alt>vacation>las-vegas (more info?)

I rarely bet in sportsbooks while in Vegas, so I need some advice.

A poker buddy here in Alabama owes me some $$$, and he is paying me
back partially in the form of a $110 ticket from the Bellagio sports
book, proceeds of a football bet he won a couple of months ago.

I am not really planning on going to the B this trip, although I am
certainly not opposed to it, but my question is must this ticket be
redeemed at Bellagio, or can I cash it at any MGM/Mirage book? I'll
be in the Mirage on Saturday night anyway, and that book is right next
to the poker room.

Thanks to the gurus here for any info.

I can tell you for a fact that you must cash it at Bellagio. Mirage
won't.

I also figured any of the MGM books would cash a ticket, but tried on my
last trip with no success. I had to go back to Bellagio.

This is just a guess on my part. Since all they do is scan the barcode
I'd imagine all of their sportsbooks are networked and would pay out.
If not, just go smell the roses in the conservatory at the B.
Enjoy.

Thanks for the authoritative answer, even though it's not what I
wanted to hear.

I did my Super Bowl bet at The Riv last year and cashed it @EI. They're
both Leroy's run books. I guess different companies have different rules...

Come on it will only take 30 mins max to walk from the Mirage to the
Bellagio and cach the ticket and walk back.

Yes but it requires an adjustment of plans. I have two newbies with
me this time, and want them to have a good time, and not feel like I
am dragging them all over the place.

For $110, I'll probably do it, though.

Then again, I'd appreciate a look at the Bellagio as a newbie.

If they don't wanna look around inside, just take them at night. Leave
them to watch the fountains and run in and cash the ticket.

True, but it's not really on our itinerary.

The closest I am planning to get is Venetian / Mirage on Saturday
evening. We're having dinner at the V, then a couple of us are
staying behind to play some poker there, while the others go across
the street to Mirage to see the 10PM "Love."

Andrew, don't cash in the ticket. It will be worth thousands on e bay
as a collectors item someday. I just saved you a trip to the Bellagio so
you owe this dog here a BUD!
