Where Is The "Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas" Sign Located?

Post subject: Where Is The "Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas" Sign Located?

Can anyone tell me the actual street location of the "Welcome To Fabulous
Las Vegas" sign? It looks like it's just up the road from Mandalay Bay, but
as we all know, everything in Las Vegas looks like it's walking distance
even though it's not. I want to take some pictures on my upcoming trip.
Anyone have any experience doing this? Is it just out in the middle of the
road or is there a photo spot? I won't have a rental car, so is it possible
to take a taxi out there? I appreciate everyone's help.

just acrossfrom where the klondike was, near Bali Hai golf course.

It's pretty much just in the middle of the road. Here's a satellite
map showing that it's about 0.7 miles from the Mandalay Bay sign to
the Welcome to Las Vegas Sign. If you zoom in, you can see that the
sign is just in the middle of the road, in front of some grass.

I'm sure you could take a taxi there, but it's not that bad a walk
from the Mandalay.

I have walked it many times. For anyone who's reasonably able bodied,
its a brief walk from the Mandalay Bay casino. The challenge is crossing
the Strip to stand in front of the sign to take a photo because the
traffic can be very heavy on the Strip at that point.
