We're heading to Italy next summer and will be spending a few days
next June in Florence. Since we'll only be there a couple days, we'd
perfer to be in the City Center. We need a place with a double and two
twins (or sleep sofa). We were in Florence several years ago but
weren't real happy with our hotel...on a mojor raod and a little
noisy. We tend to favor self-catering apartments or B&Bs but would
like to get any recommendations for lodging.

Thanks

David

I stayed at the Casci (recommended by someone else here) last year, and =
liked it a lot. It's very conveniently located, moderately priced, not =
deluxe but clean and comfortable, and run by very nice people. As with =
most hotels, if you ask for a room in the back, it's usually =
considerably quieter.

We also stayed at the Casci and also stayed in the back but we were in the
rear left corner of the hotel and the family lives above that room. AVOID
IT!! We heard the family all night - they're very vocal!! The mother raises
her voice constantly. Other than that the hotel and service were superb. The
son who runs the place is very knowledgable and helpful with getting around
the city. Also when we were there (2yrs ago) they were renovating many of
the rooms. I'm sure it's even better now. I would stay there again but I
would know to to request one of the rear right rooms!! Hope that helps.

try <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.florenceby.com" target="_blank">http://www.florenceby.com</a> or <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://bed-and-breakfast-florence.com" target="_blank">http://bed-and-breakfast-florence.com</a>
You should be able to find an apartment centrally located for about 100 Eu
per night.

Have you considered: <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.lascaletta.com/" target="_blank">http://www.lascaletta.com/</a>
I made my accomodations for Casci in December already, but this was
another reccomended option. They could not accomodate my request
because I wanted to book before June (for December). I am not sure how
they will work with you for next summer, but it's worth looking into. I
have not been to Florence yet, so I can not give first hand experience
on this one.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

We were happy with the Nuova Italia

Good location, effective air conditioning and a helpful staff.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
