I've told this before, but one time years ago I was looking at the
computer screen over the shoulder of my host at the GN and saw a column
that when translated to me said "Expected Lifetime Loss."
The host in essence admitted that the casino looks at each customer as
having a finite gambling life, and one way or the other, they are going to
lose you, either through death (probably the least common), migration to
another casino (probably the most frequent), or burn out (either through a
gambling addict's crashing and burning for the last time, or the
realization by the avid player (though one in control), that it becomes
futile chasing the fortune, and bet size diminishes to either nothing, or
an insignificant sum.
