Archived from groups: alt>travel>uk>marketplace (more info?)

VillaLanguedoc ( www.villalanguedoc.info) the charming holiday villa
in the Languedoc has a view weeks left for last minute bookings:

18th of August until 31st of August - €800 per week (pool open)
1st of September until 29th of September - €750 per week (pool open)

Prices for October can be negotiated, although the pool will be closed
from 1st of October.

The Villa:
Villa Languedoc, is charming and spacious villa in the South of France
with its own private swimming pool. The Villa close to Beziers
accommodates 6 to 8 people comfortably.

The villa has separate self contained annex (ideal for older children,
friends or in-laws) and has been lovingly refurbished by the owners; a
professional Danish couple, who love the charm and authenticity of the
region.

The villa is situated in a small wine producing village between
Pezenas and Beziers. It is also close to Montpellier and only fifteen
minutes from the Mediterranean sea. Golf courses, medieval towns and
mountain areas are near by to suit all your recreational needs.

The Region:
The area has large numbers of medieval towns and villages to visit
including Pezenas, St Guilhem-le-Desert and the Cite of Carcassonne.
For the more adventurous the Spanish border can be reached in about 90
minutes and a further hour takes you to Barcelona.

Nearby Pezenas is a very pretty medieval town with an abundance of
shops, cafes and restaurants. The centre is full of buildings dating
back to the 16th & 17th centuries. There is also an excellent market
on Saturday which provides an ideal opportunity to stock up on the
wonderful regional delicacies, fresh salads and vegetables, meats,
cheeses, seafood and of course the local wine. Take a stroll through
the old town with its unique craft and clothes shops and finally stop
at one (or two) of the many bars or bistros in the 'Place de 14th
Juillet'.

Cap d'Agde has some 14 kilometres of fine beaches and many attractions
for the children like 'Toonland' and the famous 'Aqualand' with its
giant flumes, water slides and wave machine as well as a super 'tots
area' for the very young. There is also much to explore nearby. To the
west, follow the Canal du Midi, which is classified as a World
Heritage Site by UNESCO, and visit the cities of Beziers and
Narbonne.

Montpellier is the capital of Languedoc-Roussillon, and owes much of
its charm to its beautiful historic buildings and districts and superb
gardens and open spaces. Good places to sample the unique atmosphere
of this wonderful city are the Place de la Comedie with its
brasseries, theatres and large nearby shopping malls, the Place Jean-
Jaures and surrounding streets and Esplanade de l’Europe.

Meze is a delightful little town with a wonderful harbour and lots of
narrow winding streets. It is situated on the 'Bassin de Thau’. There
are small beaches to both sides of the harbour, which are clean, and
the water is shallow, ideal for children. Take lunch at one of the
many restaurants surrounding the harbour, where you will find some of
the most wonderful seafood dishes. If you need to walk off your lunch
then stroll up to the 15th century church or visit one of the many
shops and stalls selling coquillage (shellfish), wine or clothes.

Gorge d'Heric in the ‘Haut Languedoc National Park is the Heric gorge,
one of the most outstanding beauty spots in the Espinouse mountain
range. The walls of the gorge are the finest rockfaces in the region
and the area is popular with walkers and climbers. The paths and rock
pools provide a wonderful venue for a days exploring and picnicking.
There is a super little scenic road train that takes visitors on a
picturesque route as far as the Gouffre du Cerisier when you can chose
either the train to return or take a splendid walk back down past the
rock pools and foaming waters of the Heric.

If you are interested either contact the owners via the website:
www.villalanguedoc.info or contact us (info@galaxeofstars.com) and we
will forward your email directly to Mrs Lysheim.

I'd like to stress that this is a privately owned holiday villa, and
these weeks are only availalable because the villa wasn't available
for booking (because the owners were thinking of selling the house)
