Hello,
In a little over a week the wife and I will be off on our cruise to
(among other places) Grand Cayman. I really enjoy snorkeling, but she is
more of a "lay in the sun on the beach" type. Because of this, I would like
to visit Cemetary Beach (reef). She can have the sand and I can have my
snorkeling Smile . Anyway, I plan on catching a taxi to get us there. How
easy is it to catch a taxi or bus to bring us back to the tender docks? Can
we expect to be able to hail one from the street our should we arrange for a
pick up? I would prefer to just hail one, as after snorkeling there a bit I
think it would be nice to walk down (south) the beach a ways and then grab
our taxi. If you were traveling to that beach, how much time would you
plan? I'm thinking perhaps two hours and then either hit Smith Cove for
some snorkeling (and maybe lunch) or else take the wife on a shopping trip
into Georgetown (I owe her some Valentine's jewelry). We will have (by the
time we get off the tenders) about 5 hours to spend on Grand Cayman.

Craig
P.S. Are there any other spots besides Cemetary that offer a sandy beach
and some nice snorkeling?

Thank you much for the reply, Brian. I always try to give ourselves at
least a couple hours extra when coming back to the ship...just in case Smile
On our first trip to Cayman, my wife and I got lucky. We walked about a
mile or so from the docks (after we were done swimming) and popped in a
place to eat. On our way back, we had difficulty hailing a bus (guess they
all were full). Well, one finally took pity on us and gave us a lift. When
I went to pay him he smiled and told me there was no charge for such a short
distance. (Hailed a bus as my wife's shoes were hurting her.)
