Hello everyone!

Since the group has been quiet, I thought I would post something
semi-OT. We recently signed up for Mega Cosmos on DirecTV (in the US)
and we love it! Is anyone else watching this channel? Are there any
other good channels available through the Internet or other means?

Best Regards,

Jonathan

Yes. ERT-SAT is available for free on the Internet at
http://ert.ntua.gr/tv.ram (as you may know, ERT is the main
government-run TV channel).

Alexander,

I just wanted to drop a quick line to say thanks again for this link!
My "soon to be grandfather in law" was so happy to see his familiar TV
channel/shows where he is staying.

Happy Easter,

Jonathan

You're welcome. I just want to add that at times (particularly when
soccer games are being broadcast), the server reaches its capacity and
you'll get an error message. This is a limitation of the "unicast"
method. The NTUA (National Technical University of Athens, which acts
as the conduit for ERT) has recently started "multicast" transmissions
to ease this problem, but I haven't yet been able to configure my
software to take advantage of this.

Thanks again -- it worked like a champ for the past 2 weeks or so. The
grandparents are here for another month, so I have found some other
things that they like. Mostly Greek radio & TV (as we have discussed in
this group), but a few others that I will post as time permits.

Jonathan
