My sweetheart and myself had the Feast Buffet at
GVR using the 2/1 coupon from The American Casino
Guide this evening.
Crab legs is no longer standard with the buffet,
but for $3 extra you could have 1/2 lb or
$5 for a full pound. If you elect to purchase the
full pound they give you a purple chip to present.
The cost for using the 2/1, players card discount
and 1lb of crab legs came to $23.69 for two.
The reason for this post is to let American Casino
Guide users, that Green Valley Ranch accepts the
coupons cheerfully, they didn't ask for the proof of
purchase card. It had been reported earlier by
another poster on AVLV that he was turned away.
We were dining during the 4th quarter of the game
and could hear the cheering from the crowd
outside the buffet.
Played two hands of fun 21, got a winning double
down and a 21 on the second hand and left
immediately $30 winner.
On the way home stopped by The Sunset Klondike.
They had two blackjack $2 tables completely
filled and a large crowd playing 10 cent roulette.
Since the tables were filled we stopped by the Skyline
which was running one $5 blackjack table with one
player, after10 minutes being up $35 we left.

Well that sucks. In November I had plates of both hot and cold legs as
part of the regular price (half-price, actually, with the coupon). I
hope this surcharge doesn't catch on elsewhere.

When did Susset Klondike add blackjack? Or has it always been there
and I just couldn't see the tables through the smoke... >> Stay informed about: Green Valley Ranch |

As long as I can remember, they have had the small blackjack pit. I
can remember when it was new and didn't smell so bad and they had the
blackjack.

My ribs at home are so much better (to my simple way of enjoying them)
that I don't order them out, anymore.
Try the F&C or fish sandwich at TBird on Eastern. The fries are
ordinary, but their fish is always crisp on the outside and perfect,
along with a good tartar sauce. The other top place for F&C most is at
Red Robin. The second tier would include Applebee's, PT's, Cheesecake
Factory, Claim Jumper and Village Pub.

They started the pay-for-crab thing around the beginning of the year.
Apparently they were having issues with people eating their body weight in
crab legs, so they had to start charging extra. I used to watch some folks
eat more crab at one sitting than I have probably consumed in my entire
adult life, but never thought much of it since 'all you can eat' is what it
is, and if you pay for your ticket you should be entitled to all you can eat
of whatever you'd like. I guess the serious crab chompers ate themselves
into the pay-for-crab situation.
I don't know of the surcharge anywhere else, but then the only buffet I
usually go to is GVR since I live close to there and it's my favorite one,
but I hope it doesn't catch on so the crab lovers amongst us can eat their
fill.
I hope regular GVR's don't get too crabby over this development.
(sorry, I had to)

Thank you, Nonny
Never thought to try them at Red Robin.
F& C at PT were ok but cole slaw was god awful.
I have tried them at Claim Jumper, Cheesecake Factory and Applebee's.
Seems Village has a lot of great specials for us over 50 old guys. We are
eating there next Sunday.

At Paris' Le Village Buffet those who are Diamond level players are
served crab legs that are much larger and seemingly fresher than those
available to other patrons. The wait staff serve them directly.

I just started getting into crab legs this last trip. They're
certainly not cheap in supermarkets, so I understand why a buffet
wouldn't want to lose a lot of money on them. But of course I'd prefer
that other buffet-goers continue to subsidize my burgeoning appetite
for crab legs.

I understand you get a free shirt, once you have blown through 200 pounds of
crab legs. Steve 2 names is trying to beat BR'S record without throwing up.
The look on Steve's face tells me that he is almost finished eating.
