I am planning to visit Grenada in August. We are looking at La Sagesse
Nature Center. Anyone have experience with this place, and also with
the mosquito and sandfly situation in late summer?

My wife and I have twice been to Grenada the second week in August for
Carnival and mosquitos were a major problem for her but not for me.
I guess it depends on your body chemistry.
Also, I remember seeing a girl from NYC who had a huge array of bites all
over her back from mosquitos so my advise is be prepared. Its also hot and
humid and rains a couple times a day and the trade winds haved slowed so plan on
doing a lot of sweating. Nevertheless, we love Grenada and plan to return
this August for another Carnival.

The carnival in Grenada called Spicemas ends on Tuesday, August 10th.
Major carnival events occur on the island during the preceeding week.
The website for the 2003 Grenada Carnival can be found at: <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.spicemas.com" target="_blank">www.spicemas.com</a>
Soon to be updated to reflect the 2004 Carnival, or so they say.
