Has anyone been in a verandah cabin on the Zuiderdam Upper Promenade deck
forward, just above the Vista Lounge? We're wondering if any music or noise
from the theater bleeds through to those cabins.

Thanks.

AG in Baltimore

You were clear ... I was on the ship and loved it ... sorry I couldn't
help with your question ... but can with other questions about the
ship ...
I mentioned the flaming desserts because they are very good and easily
missed as they are made not in the main dining room but a lounge as
you leave the room ... not always flaming ... but always special ...

Thanks for the reply, but I was asking about the Vista Theater at the bow,
not the Vista Lounge aft. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear. Wanted to
know if sound from the shows can be heard in cabins on the next deck up, not
asking about sounds from the aft lounge.

I've sailed on this ship twice, but can't give you specifics about the
cabin location you're asking about. The shows, however, are usually
done by 11:00 or so, so it's not like any noise will keep you up all
night.

And, don't listen to number6. Smile My second cruise on the Zuidy was
the most rowdy and active of all my cruises - including RCI, Carnival,
etc. The disco was hoping 'til the wee hours.

Afternoon tea is a treat. Last HAL cruise, the flaming desserts were a
no-show. But, look for them in the lounge right outside the lower
dining room exit, starboard.

Thanks, number6. We'll look for the desserts and keep you in mind if other
questions come up. We also love HAL - this'll be our 4th on HAL. Never
been on on of their large boats, though. Looking forward to it.

I can't help with the music. But a forward cabin? I hope you don't get
seasick. If there's rough seas you'll be well aware of the ship's rising
and diving over the waves. But if you don't get sea sick I can't think of a
more dramatic view during a storm.

Brian, you couldn't be more correct. My forward cabin on the Zuidy
definitely induced the queasies. It had been a late night (early
morning??), and I was long overdue for my nightly Bonine dose. I felt
fine the whole evening, but once inside my cabin - very far forward,
very far up - I was not doing well at all. Once the new dose went to
work, it was all good again. But, good warning - these cabins tend to
rock and roll.

The cow and I love HAL and exspecially the Zieuerdam. We are not allowed a
forward cabin, as my cow tips the ship(We are both seniors)
