Going to Hangzhou/Shanghai October

Hi, I'll be going to hangzhou 12 oct 2008, and leave 18 oct 2008
(11pm)

I plan to spend 3 nights in shanghai, 3 nights in hangzhou.


Transport

1) Should I go to shanghai first, then back to hangzhou? I don't
travel much, I don't know the pros/cons

2) What is the easiet way to travel from hangzhou to shanghai and vice
versa? Are the direct bus from hangzhou airport to shanghai ?


Accomodation

1) I read that I should stay at westlake area. I found a hostel at
"north westlake" . Would that be ok?

2) What about shanghai? Which area should I stay? I like plenty of old
and new, and everywhere walking distance. I don't need food galore
area, as I only eat vegetarian/kosher/halal

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I think it makes no difference. Personally I would spend some more time
in Shanghai, because there is more to see there.

I took the train from Shanghai to Hangzhou (2 hours). There should also
be a bus from the Shnaghai airport to Hangzhou.

I stayed in this place:
Golden City Hotel Hangzhou, No. 286 Yan'an road, Hangzhou, Tel. 0571-
87036888. 396 yuan for a nice elegant little suite, with everything.
Near the lake.

Somewhere near the Bund is ok.
