Thanks for your great advice in the past. Just one more question: If
you had a choicebetween th Saint Louis or the Monteleone, at the same
discount prices, does one stand out over the other? A close third is
the Inn on Bourbon, but I'm not too sure about their mixed reviews.

Another on my list, really different, is a B&B called The Gentry, on St
Ann and Burgundy. I know the street but can't racll the bldg. Its
picture is a frame bldg a bit larger then a double shotgun. Described
as "modest" and "for the budget conscious," It is one-third less in
price and includes a kitchinette.-- pluses for me if it isn't in poor
condition. Anyone seen it or have experience with it?

I have not been in the place, but they are one of the only "B&Bs"
actually IN the French Quarter that is actually licensed by the City...a
big plus in my book <g>.

Thanks, Patrick. Of course, I know of your highly-reviewed place, too.
But my poor old legs don't take me far, and I like to be able to go
back to my room to rest a couple times mid-day. Smile Hence my looking
within a smaller radius.

Gentry is still on my list, and now I see Creole House is next door --
so, more exploration. I think I spend more time each year planning my
three regular trips than I do on them! But thats part of the fun
(sometimes).
