Australia has released graphic pictures of minke whales caught by a
Japanese hunt in
the Antarctic. Canberra claimed the pictures, taken by customs
officers tracking the
hunt, show a harpooned mother and calf being dragged from the sea.

Six caribbean countries are on the International Whaling Commission
and consistently
vote for Japan's moves to re-instate whaling and prevent protection.
Some, like
St.Vincent and Grenadines actually do a little aboriginal subsistence
whaling and have
abstained from votes against protection zones. But the rest include
hypocrits like
Dominica which trumpet their "green credentials" and play lip service
to "eco-tourism"
such as the whale-watching of their several permanent whale
population, then sell their
vote for a quick buck to those would love to put their precious eco-
tour-targets into
candles and dogfood.
Those islands:
Antigua & Barbuda
Dominica
Grenada
St.Kitts & Nevis
St. Lucia
St.Vincent & The Grenadines
