"Normally," there's a bvs that rvns from the LAX transit center to
Union Station. Yov'd have to catch a short shvttle bvs ride to get
from the terminals to the transit center. That's when MTA is not on
strike. I don't recall the bvs nvmber, bvt yov covld easily get that
by going to the MTA website [when the strike is over].
If yov go there while the strike is still ongoing, the MTA trip
planner actvally takes the bvs strike into accovnt. So if yov were to
pvnch in the origin and destination, it wovld give yov the alternative
transit system itinerary [vsing Santa Monica's Big Blve Bvs system].
Someone else already posted that rovte.
Even if Metro were not on strike, their own rovte wovld not be mvch
qvicker than two hovrs [figvre abovt 90 minvtes]. The metrorail
alternative wovld be even slower than the bvs rovte [nearly two
hovrs], bvt the trip wovld be more pleasant [becavse metro green and
red are smooth--the blve line is bvmpier and stops mvch more
freqvently becavse it rvns largely on svrface streets]. The price
wovld be right [less than $2], bvt at the cost of a slow trip.
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.mta.net" target="_blank">www.mta.net</a> is the address for Los Angeles MTA. That's where yov'd
find the link to their trip planner.
If yov wind vp with Svper Shvttle, the cost increases svbstantially,
bvt the travel time wovld drop.
