Today, Mrs. Nonny, our friend and I virtually stumbled on Le Golosita on
Eastern Avenue, today. We were out shopping and ready to head for a
favorite luncheon place when Mrs. Nonny decided to try something new.
The place opened in November, and from the luncheon crowd on a Sunday,
it's a winner. The ownership is the same folk as one up north of town
and also Leffiriono in the Venetian. The share the same Executive Chef,
with each place having its own Chef to carry out the menu. Appetizers
are in the $10 range, with typical entrees like salad/sandwich or soup
in the $9-$10 range as well. They also have a great pizza selection and
a DELIVERY service. with $15 minimum.

The place is in the shopping center by Red Robin, across the street from
Tbird and just South of Serene Avenue. For the folk in Sun City Anthem,
it's a snap and in the same center as Makino. (David, take note) They
have an incredible menu, the food is as good or better in some areas
than La Colina and they offer indoor and outdoor dining. Service is
"attentive," to say the least. We had two salad/sandwich luncheons and
a Clamari/Eggplant appetizer for lunch. With drinks, the total was
<$40, and well worth the price. There were enough leftovers for a
future breakfast and supper, both. Wow- an instant "favorite."

One site commenting on the place is
http://www.yelp.com/biz/le-golosita-henderson and there are others. I
think that their web is www.legolisitarestaurant.com but still under
construction. If you're in the area, or live nearby, remember that they
deliver and the food is excellent.

Thanks Nony. I will give it a shot this week.

We had breakfast brunch at Boulder Station Buffet today before my cousins
and girlfriend went back to LA. $8.99 with the boarding pass, and a pretty
darned good brunch for the price. I got outvoted on Trumpets...

Thanks for the URL. I did the Google thing and came up empty, so I'll
keep the URL for when we order by phone. Incidentally, we frequently go
to La Colina, which is also nearby, and either place gives you darned
good food. Mrs. Nonny loves eggplant Parmesan, and reports that she's
happy with either version. The friend with us yesterday is Italian, and
reports that all is excellent, except that her Marinara sauce is better.
As one who has about 2 gallons of her sauce in the freezer, I agree.
<grin>

Le Golisita, I forgot to mention, also has an attached bakery with
beautiful selection of cookies, and Gellatto parlor, offering their
selections for dessert in the restaurant as well. The Gellatto
selection is limited to what they've made that day, which is typically
3-5 different flavors from a list of about 30. The gals split a
raspberry serving ($Cool and while overpriced, though it tasted great. If
you want a better price, get it at Whole Foods Market.

Of interest to me, was that they also offer a Happy Hour 4-6p, with well
drinks and selected appetizers half price, but since few others reading
this newsgroup would even consider bending an elbow, that might not be
of general interest.

You want gelato heaven, here you go:

www.gelato64.com

Unfortunately, you'll have to come to Chandler AZ to get it. Have not
been able to bring myself to try the Black Sesame gelato yet.
