We're arriving late Saturday and staying at an airport hotel (Four Points)
for the night. We'll be driving in to the quarter Sunday morning. Are
there any convenient grocery stores on the way? Do they sell beer in
grocery stores in Louisiana?

Thanks!
Doug

The Sheraton Four Points is on Veterans Boulevard in Metairie, a suburb of
New Orleans. Veterans is the main east-west street from Kenner (where the
airport is) to New Orleans. I-10 is parallel to it, and that's what you take
into town (see the maps at
http://www.nawlins.com/new_site/visitor/vismaps.cfm ). There are plenty of
stores along Veteran's.

Liquor (beer and everything else) is sold everywhere. The most convenient
places are gas stations. You can get smokes, gas, and a bottle of rum all in
one stop. What a state, huh!

There are two c-stores across the street from the Four Points.

not only can you buy beer on the way to the Quarter, if you drive straight
town Vets, you can go to several drive thru bars.

Have fun. Spend ALL your money here. We love touristas!

Wow! Last time I drove through a bar I spent the night in jail. What a
state!

Thanks to everyone that has helped us out during our planning. We're
heading down with a couple that's never been before - which always adds to
the fun.

New Orleans here we come!!!

Heck you can have beer delivered to you 24 hours a day by several
local fr. quarter grocery stores.
