Thanks. They've made good progress, though it may be close on whether
they'll make the "under 17 days" to get the facade looking as it did
before. They have til next Monday morning.

I forgot what the original terms of the 17 days were. Are we looking for
re-opening in that time frame?

My insider info says that the damage is a lot worse than is being
reported. I'll be curious to know what the total $$ damage estimate is
factoring in casino closure and what will certainly be un-bookable rooms
for some time to come.

That's funny. I took one this afternoon that shows more progress. And
it makes me very suspicious.

I wonder what would have happened if it was on the las vegas strip
side...........I think they probably would have covered it up with
plastic.

Not necessarily re-opening, just restoring the exterior to its pre-fire
appearance.

Oh boy, I can't wait for the re-opening. I've already ordered tickets
for Hal Linden.

Interesting article in today's paper about how MGM treated the guests of
Monte Carlo after the fire and what an appreciative and positive
response they got from virtually everybody. Naturally, there was one
person who needed "leg rubs" because having to walk down the stairs, but
the article was quite positive about the proactive response by the
hotel and its employees to the upset.

A reminder: if you are going for the Hal Linden show, please leave
immediately afterward. That space doubles as my comped suite at the
Monte Cameron, and I need my sleep. I will be putting my tent up
immediately after he sings "Mammy", so please don't ask for an encore.

Are you kidding? What kind of boss do you think I am? I'd never do
that. They're getting paid in 12-packs of Pabst Blue Ribbon & boxes of
generic snack crackers.

That's what they said they wanted.

That's right, he'll be performing his song & dance routine right next to
the drink cart. There's enought room in the corner for about 8 or 9
folding chairs & a couple of orange crates Mr. Linden can use for a
stage. It will be one of the more intimate showrooms in Las Vegas.

I'm glad to hear it you're keeping it small and intimate. It's hard to
feel a connection with the performers in mega-venues like the Omaha
Lounge.

Hal Linden's revamped his songlist, Matt. He now closes with a "New
York, New York/Baby, Baby, Don't Get Hooked on Me/Running With The
Devil" medley.

But you're right, your tent goes up right after his last song.

At least you'll have a tent for your RFB. I have to sleep on three of
the folding chairs.
