Paros or Naxos ?

Last year we travelled from Santorini to Folegandros.
No problem at all. Just go to the ticket shop
and by a ticket for a slow or a fast
ferry.
They leave 4 or 5 days a week.
Folegandros is very quiet and nice!

Naxos has an interesting old town, most accomodation is along the beach
resorts, lots of British package tour operators go there, a car is best for
exploring the island.

Paros is a lovely island, Parokia is the busiest town, I wouldn't stay
there, but Naoussa is absolutely lovely, it has a quaint horseshoe shaped
working fishing harbour, the narrow streets are lovely too, I don't recall
any nightclubs, it is not that kind of place, mostly couples just enjoying
village life and a meal out, there are not many big hotels, mostly
apartments, there are lots of villages to visit and the bus service is very
good, from Parikia you can go all over the island, if you like it really
quiet, then Anti Paros would suit you.

along the south west coast. Naxos town has a big bustling port backed
by tiny streets winding up the hill behind. The town beaches are all
backed by low-rise tourist development. Paros is the smaller and
quieter of the two but Pariokia itself is a bit of a letdown. Naoussa
is very pretty but a big tourist spot and always heaving with crowds.
There are several small beaches around the bay opposite. If you want

This is the newsletter for foreign residents. Having lived on Paros for
5 years I really miss the island! I shall be back in June to visit and
can't wait to see old friends. I would also recomend Naxos. The two
islands are chalk and cheese but both beautiful with different things to
offer.

Both were nice, Naxos is the larger of the two by far. I really didn't
find Paros any busier or more noisy.I was to both in the October and not
looking for nightclubs on either so I can't really comment on that but
I actually found it smaller/quainter in Paros. Paros is a main ferry
connection to Piraeus so you will probably go through there no matter
what. They are very close together (8KM) maybe 40 minutes on the boat.
A partictularly nice little town on Paros is Naoussa-look it up.
If you want real quiet Antiparos a little island just off Paros is that!
