We are flying from Portland, Or. to Philadelphia with a scheduled
arrival of 4.40 p.m. and need to make a connection with a flight
to Madrid, scheduled to leave at 6.05 p.m. Both flights are with
US Airways.

How tight will this transfer be?

You'll be okay as long as you do not delay getting you your next
gate. You'll get your Philly boarding passes when you check in at
Portland and your bags will be checked thru to Madrid. You may
want to look at a map the Philly terminals so you'll know where
you next gate is and confirm the gate with the agent who meets the
flight.

My experiences at PHL have been very mixed. Even had a delay and
missed a connection because the jet bridge wouldn't connect to the
plane and we couldn't deplane! Keep your fingers, toes, and testicles
crossed and seek favors from the Australian and Polish mafias!!

Your domestic flight will arrive in Concourse B or C; your international
flight will depart from Concourse A. Assuming you're on time, there
shouldn't be a problem, but if there is an irregularity, you might want to
have some alternates available before you leave Portland, so you can request
a reroute if necessary.

As long as your flight to PHL is on time, no problem.
