Any suggestions for a Philadelphia hotel with reasonable rates? By
that I mean in the $150 and under range. Have found one place with
decent reviews near Temple Univ. Too far north? Seems to be easy
access to subway. Traveling with 14 yo, will be seeing historic
sites...everything in Old City/City Center up in $200-300 range...will
be there about June 25-28 - still firming up dates. Will be arriving
via Amtrak from NYC, so can connect to most any hotel via public
transport from the station. My last trip to Phil was 21 yrs ago, not
as familiar as I am with DC layout.
Looking for DC for 7 nights - thinking might be cheaper to book a
place by the by the week - not opposed to staying out in Alexandria.
Have been to DC before - Alexandria is a short metro hop to the Mall
and surrounding area. Tentative dates June 14-21.
I got NYC covered. >> Stay informed about: Philadelphia/DC hotels |

Re: Philly
Hotwire has a 3.5* City Centre West listed on thier site and for the dates
25th june to the 2nd july for $79 plus tax, doing some research it turns
out to be the City Centre Sheraton. Has a pool, gym, etc
Thye also have a 3.5* listed in Olde Town which is the Sheraton Society
Hill. Same again, pool, gym etc
Re: DC
4* in Dupont Circle/Embassy Row is $179 a night, again pool, gym, etc this
apears to be either the Palomar or the Omni
3* in Alexandria/Old Tow is $84 a night, pool, gym, tennis etc this apears
to be the Crown plaza
looks like the best deals are the Sheraton city centre for Philly and the
Crown Plaza for DC
hope the above helps >> Stay informed about: Philadelphia/DC hotels |

we were there in the fall of 94...the grateful dead were staying
there....
for those who have been there, just picture jerry and bob in a room,
overlooking the lobby and about 15 of us trying to get them to come
down for beers...lol
bob ended up coming down, hanging out and left instructions to have
all our drinks put on the bands room tab....big mistake...deadheads
can put it away!!
I think they had to tour the next spring, despite jerrys poor health
to pay for all the jager we pounded that nite.... >> Stay informed about: Philadelphia/DC hotels |

Well, a pathetic excuse for an underground mall, and no movies.

They have no gym or tennis on site. They have an arrangement with the
Sport and Health Club several blocks away, and there are several
public outdoor courts across the street -- but they're an almost
unplayable SportCourt grid surface.

There are two Holiday Inns in Philadelphia. One is on Walnet Street a
few blocks from City Hall, and I think the other is in or close to
Society Hill. Both are within walking distance of many sites that would
interest tourists. The op might also find the web site
http://www.gophilly.com interesting. >> Stay informed about: Philadelphia/DC hotels |

I have my own online travel booking engine (that anyone can have for
under $500). I use it as a home business and donate some proceeds to
charity. Please check my site at www.liveearthtravel.net for great
rates to Phili. Click on Book Travel to get to Search engine--My
contact # is on site--Hope it helps--Happy Traveling---Irene >> Stay informed about: Philadelphia/DC hotels |

Last year when I went to a conference in DC I stayed at the Days Inn
on Columbia Pike in Arlington, Virginia. It was reasonably priced and
even had a kitchenette. It was only a short bus ride to the Metro.
The only problem was that the Internet was not wireless so I had to
buy a cable. >> Stay informed about: Philadelphia/DC hotels |
