Having stayed in a Hotel in Piraeus I would agree with Alexander. Read
between the lines! All I will say was it was an interesting and not to
be repeated experience.

A Hotel I would recommend in Athens is The Attalos Hotel. Right next to
the Metro, very central and with a stunning view of the Acropolis from
the rooftop bar.

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately my brother-in-law "managed" to book a
couple of rooms before I sent him the warning !
But on our way back to Norway we will book the Attalos.

Hi Roger

We stayed at Hotel Tritorn near metro and the ferrys, its clean,nice and the
price was 100 Euro 4 persons.
I would also reccomend to stay in the Plaka area if you have some time
before you sail, its only 20 minutes with metro. Hotel Kimon is very central
close to metro and the Airport bus end station at Syntagma square. cost
aprox. 120 Euro
