I"ll be travelling to Athens and need a three/four star hotel in the
Plaka. Any suggestions???...If not the Plaka, what ever other
neighborhood is in close proximity.
Thanks..W R K

Not quite the Plaka but very near. Stayed recently and was impressed

http://www.attaloshotel.com/

Another one I have stayed in many times is

http://www.hotel-adonis.gr/index.html

but not since they renovated it so I don't know what I am missing!

Hello there! I have a site in mind with many offers all over Greece and
Athens of course.
You can visit www.megatravel.com and look at the "city break offers".
Have a pleasant staying!

Early summer we stayed in the Jason Inn, a pleasant hotel with a spectacular
dining room/ bar in a roof garden with one of the best views in Athens.
Probably not 5 or 4 star by international standards but one of the best
locations close to the Plaka/ the Old Agora and that whole area which is now
largely pedestrianised. However, ask for a room at the back, without a
balcony since the road at the front is very noisy!

Cheers,

Roger

I too have stayed in the Jason Inn and although pleasant enough it was no
better than the other two I mentioned and a lot more expensive. I think the
Attolos wins.
