How far time or miles is the port in Honolulu to the airport. Would it
be less to take a taxi or use cruise line transfers.

It is about a 20 minute drive from the airport to the piers. If you
haven't been to Honolulu before, you might want to go a day or so
early and see the sights.

Honolulu is a great place to visit.

Taxis are ALWAYS cheaper, especially for TWO passengers,
any port, anywhere in the world, than the fare the cruiseship
charges.

Would be interested to know if there is an exception. Smile

It is close. Most flights to the east coast main land are in the early
evening. That gives many a full day to tour and visit.

No exceptions that I know of .... excursions too are cheaper if done
independently and not through the cruise line ....

Independent tours are usually cheaper but not necessarily better or safer.
At least you know you will get back to the ship on time and you know exactly
where and when or are going in advance. Remember what happened to the people
on the bus in South America.

Sometimes by a LARGE margin, and better too. However, for tours,
there are exceptions and are more iffy -- especially if you don't
know the local sharks from the friendly fish.

>From the airport, it's about 5 miles to go from the Nimitz
Hwy to Ala Moana Blvd. The piers are a short distance from
there. 10 bucks is about right. I think the cruiseship charges
25 pp one way. So, for two passengers, it's a big saving.

You're right! I didn't remember any question about hotels,
sightseeing, etc. After all, I can think of hardly ANY airport
that is less than 5 miles from the cruise pier.

> Since we're seemingly on the subject, but obviously off the

why don't we get back on the original question?

I noticed, only now that you are ADVERTISING in a USENET
group, with a sig of your Travel Agency business

> SHIP-TO-SHORE CRUISE AGENCY®

when you normally have that only in the web URL, or in some
other newsgroups in mobilhomes:

Manufactured Home E-Mail Net(work)
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

or just plain sig in Walt-Disney groups.

why d'ont you you tell us how much YOU charge for the
HNL airport to Princess cruise pier, instead of recommending
passengers thus:

> why not opt for a day or two prior to your cruise, yet
> you may want to considers some of the upscale resort hotels in Waikiki
> instead of Honolulu.

when car rental and hotel rental are some of YOUR businesses
you spam in your webpage posted in rec.travel.cruises?

As Dillon Pyron had noticed awhile ago, you were posting
a "news release" that was 2 days old, ala the spamming style
of Ray Goldenberg!

John sisker posted in rec.travel.cruises:

> We came across this information in the trades and thought it

I could hardly tell you from spammer extraordinaire Ray Goldenberg
had I not seen your name and posting sig!

There is no speculation involved, given what I stated in my post.
Whether you received any compensation for your car rental or hotels
is beside the point. You are using this as an excuse to SPAM for
your cruise agency.

Ray receives no compensation for his posting of "news releases"
either. He is using that as an excuse to spam for his travel business
as you are using this headline

SHIP-TO-SHORE CRUISE AGENCY®

to spam for YOUR travel agency. You do not use that sig for
other groups you spam --such as

> Manufactured Home E-Mail Net(work)
> FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

for the mobile home newsgroupa, and

> John Sisker
> jsis... RemoveThis @sprynet.com

to spam the Walt Disney group for your business in
Homes and photo albums.

You don't owe anyone an explanation if you refrain from using thinly
disguised excuses like those used by Ray Goldenberg to SPAM in
USENET newsgroups for your businesses -- which are ADs, strictly
against USENET Rules and Guidelines.

The only personal bashing, if you want to call it that, is your
violation
of the NO AD Guideline for all newsgroups!

I actually agree with Reef Fish on at least some points, when he said in
another of his posts... "All you have to do is to drive the King Rat away,
and all the other Rats that followed the King Rat Ray Goldenberg's piper,
will be driven away too."

I'll continue to post, but I would have no problem at all in having no
signature lines, other than my personal name. I will indeed follow suit, if
you can get others to actually follow the USENET guidelines. While I take
exception to the word Rat in this case, you're right in one sense, I and
others are simply the followers in this case.

As there is no means of enforcing this newsgroup's charter, because
it's unmoderated; it's a waste of energy to try. The only viable options
I see are: 1) Found a moderated group and encourage all but spammers
to join. This is essentially what was done over at
alt.fan.jimmy-buffett. The place was rapidly turning into a spam
bucket. Two of its members founded an alternative moderated yahoo group.
It's been going strong ever since. 2) Do not engage the spammer or
troll. If nobody responds they often go where they can stir things up,
3) Just filter the bums. If you don't have to look at their posts - it's
just like they really aren't there at all.
