I just go back from Las Vegas this morning. A lot went on this trip & a
full report will come along later (?). Yeah, I busted out in Vegas.
Those dag-gum shiny slots with their fancy bonus rounds & mulit-hand VP
blew my bankroll. Held my own on the tables & horse racing. I blew
most of my bankroll gambling way too late when I was way too tired.
It's been said you shouldn't gamble when you're tired & I'm living proof
of that.

There were several bizarre occurrences this trip. Here are a few of them:

- On the shuttle to the El Cortez there was a video monitor on the bus.
It wasn't playing a promo for a Vegas show or a video from the LVCVB.
No, it was showing an episode of "The Lucy Show". In this episode,
Lucy won a contest & got to fly first class on a trip to London. And
who does she happen to sit next to on the plane? Why, her boss, Mr.
Mooney! Needless to say, hilarity & hijinx soon followed. Man, I
haven't seen a rerun of "The Lucy Show" in at least 15 years. I found
this kind of weird.

- I was walking to the FSE from the El Cortez one morning when I saw
this guy walking with a big boombox, one of those late '80's/early 90's
dual cassette jobs; not sure if it had a CD player. He was an older,
scraggly-looking guy, maybe 55-60. I didn't hear any music & as he got
closer, I saw that he was wearing headphones. He was lugging the
boombox around to listen to music thru the headphones! I wonder if this
guy realizes that for the price of the 10 D batteries to power his
boombox, he could have bought a portable Walkman-type cassette player &
several packs of AA batteries.

That's all I got now; I'll try to have a report done up within the next
week or two.

Did you consider the lady in the fubu sweater at the Western dropping a
large piece of pie on the casino floor then just shrugging and walking off
bizarre?

Welcome back, Cam. Sorry to hear that the trip was not a profitable one.

I'm surprised you didn't stick around a few days longer to oversee the
re-opening of the Monte Cameron. But then, you have people for that.

Thomas, you didn't read very closely. It was from the Western; it
wasn't perfectly good. Its value was somewhat less than the value of
her time and energy in bending over to pick it up.

Cameron, what about the Spike? The new owners are telling me they are
in there cleaning it up. Any evidence of it?

It's bizarre she wasted a perfectly good slice of pie laying on the

I didn't go into the Spike, Matt. From the outside & peeking in, I
couldn't see any difference.

You know, when I read this, I thought you said "peeing in" which is pretty
appropriate for the Spike.

Was it that or Sister Golden Hair? It was some song by America.
