I always thought Rhodes was only famous (infamous) for Faliraki.
However I got a wonderful surprise when we visited Rhodes town and
found a medieval walled city so beautiful they have designated it a
world heritage site. Aside from simply wandering around the narrow
streets there are some excellent restaurants and loads of shopping.
However the highlight for me was the Archaeological Museum of Rhodes,
housed in a magnificent medieval fortress which once belonged to the
Knights of St John. They have those classic greek urns richly
decorated with ancient scenes. I was awestruck.
There is plenty more information on <a href="http://

reccomend the island.
