We're going to Siem Reap to see the Angkor Wat temples later this
month. While we want to spend some time seeing the temples, we'd also
just like to get a guide and do some hiking in the forest without
stopping to see a hundred temples.

Can you get a guide and do a forest hike away from most of the temples
just to get away and spend some time consistently hiking (rather than
stop and start)?

Any ideas appreciated..

Thanks

Randy

I'd be concerned about landmines still in the area.

Getting a guide should not be a problem (for money locals will do almost
anything). But I wonder if it is allowed or safe to walk around the
temples. There could be mines in the area, just to name one possible
danger.
