I've been doing it. When RCI sent out their new smoking policy to TAs
last year, they did say that it was in response to client requests and
a changing environment.

Atlantic City has gone smoke free. People pissed and moaned about it.
But unless things have changed and it didn't make the news, it's going
to stick.

Austin-Bergstrom is entirely smoke free. So is DFW. Indianapolis
used to have smoking rooms, but I think those are gone. Same with
O'Hare.

As I said, it wasn't the only reason but it was the Carnival Freedom.
One side of each deck was smoking and sometimes the only place to get
anything to drink was on that side because the other was closed.
Smoking was allowed in cabins. We were OK because our daughter was on
one side and non-smoking friends were on the other. However they had a
problem with the cabin on the other sides. There was often smoke on
the balcony and sometimes even into the room from outside sources.

In addition the internet cafe was off the cigar bar and there was a
constant stench even when nobody was there.

What gets me is that in every state the smokers continue to provide the same
stupid arguments about banning smoking. What we need is a federal smoking
regulations to fix the problems once & for all.

In Austin, then NYC, then Dallas, the bars and restaurants predicted
disaster. And yes, for several months, numbers were down. But NYC
restaurants are above pre ban numbers. Austin restaurants and bars
have never done better. And when one big bar in Dallas closed,
"everyone" (smokers) moaned about it. Until the city pulled numbers
that showed its sales had started to decline more than a year earlier.
