Suggestions for Martinique ?

Hi,

Two friends will be spending 10 days in Martinique in May of 2005. We both love
photography, hiking, scuba diving (only one of us), and also hanging out on the
beach and reading. Night life would be fun to explore as well.

It would be nice to stay in a place that is walking distance to beaches and to
some city life - like a morning walk to the neighbourhood cafe.

Do you have something to suggest/recommend? Anything along the lines of what we
are looking for would be greatly appreciated.
