All over the airport, and anything remotely connected to it, are signs
and instructions they presumably expect us to take seriously.

So why have I been staring at a monitor for 20 minutes, displaying the
unchanging message "Boarding in 5 minutes".

And why does my boarding pass say "Not valid without flight coupon
attached" when I have an e-ticket and there's no coupon?

Take a bow: BHX and Aviance.

I have long wondered why they don't take that off.

I think the boarding pass issue is about the fact that paper tickets still
exist and the airline only uses one stock of pass for both paper and ET.
When used as a boarding pass for ET I thought some extra text was printed
indicating that an ET coupon exists.
