Hobart Airport i called Hobart-International Airport and there where
weekly flights years ago operated by ANZ I belive. But I can't find any
flights today with ANZ, Qantas, Virgin Blue or Tassair on the web. I
don't know about any other airlines operating to Hobart and other
tasmanian airfields (Launceston, Devonport, Burnie etc) do serve any
international flights. If you don't want to go via Sydney, try
connections via Melbourne Wink))

No - you have to travel via Melbourne or Sydney.

Qantas, if I remember rightly. It went from Hobart to
Christchurch. I remember the service but think it did not last long.

Just been looking at the OAG flight atlas but they mark nothing
south of Sydney to Chch. But that does not establish the negative
because there is, or until recently was, the FreedomAir service Sydney
to Dunedin. Puzzles me, incidentally, why that is not Canberra to
Dunedin, landing fees here must be cheaper and they would attract the
southern highlands and south coast traffic, which would fit with their
'cheap alternative' profile.

Suggest you check the various airport websites, Dunedin, Chch,
Wellington, etc, for services operating from their runways. (I imagine
they would know? Wink= )
