Generally, they were nowhere near where they were "supposed" to be. There are no
Rocky Mountains in western OK, for instance. They were never close to the Grand
Canyon. Look at a map - if they were trying to get from OK to Mexico without
touching Texas (pretty absurd, really) they would have had to drive up to the
Panhandle, west into New Mex on US 56 and then southwest (thru some pretty dull
scenery by Hollywood standards) and they still would have had to clip a bit of
Texas to cross at Juarez. Yet they were shown driving south thru what appears to
be the 4 Corners area when they locked the cop in the trunk, and the "Grand
Canyon" they drove off of was much further north in Utah. Even for women drivers
this is just WAYYY off course.

Actually, some years ago I found a website that plotted all the actual scenes &
routes they used. Never bookmarked it, it may still be around.
