To clarify, that only applies to people who would normally require a
visa to visit the US. Passengers are still eligible to transit the US
without a visa if they are eligible under the visa waiver program, or
are Canadian citizens.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

No, they announced that they were considering canceling the
"International to International" program and the "Transit Without Visa"
program in the morning, then in the afternoon of the same day announced
they were both being temporarily canceled for at least 60 days, until
better security procedures could be developed.

Note that the visa waiver program is still in effect for those eligible,
which are typically those from Western Europe.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Actually it is in place for at least 60 days but only applies to folks
who would be required to have a visa to enter the US. FFM
