Sorry it doesn't involve air travel but not sure where to ask.

Do I need travel insurance on this occasion?
I am driving my own car to Western Europe from UK.

Medical is covered - reciprocal

Car is covered - Car Insurance & AA European Breakdown cover

Personal possessions are covered - contents insurance

Legal expenses involving car are covered - car insurance

Delays/cancellation - not a problem
Lost money - hardly worth having

What am I missing?

The only thought crossing my mind is if the reciprocal medical coverage covers
the full amount of any serious medical problem, say resulting from an
accident. Or is it just very basic coverage.

After thinking about it a bit more, we thought what would happen if we were
involved in a serious accident and needed serious medical and help to get
home? So we have taken out travel insurance to be on the safe side.

Repatriation. Reciprocal medical treatment won't extend to shipping
you back to the UK if something bad happens. Air ambulances can be
very expensive! If you're only going for a few weeks Insure&Go or
Direct Travel Insurance will cover you for a few quid if you're a
"standard" customer.

NHS coverage theoretically doesn't even cover you for a traffic accident in
the UK, your insurance is expected to pay.

The HNS rarely try to collect, but can do so in theory.

That may depend where your accident happens. I've heard of regions where it
occurs routinely (but don't ask me which - my contemporaries have travelled
far and wide and I can't remember which one(s) told me this).
