Hi,
If you plan on visiting Cairns Alice and Ayers rock then be well prepared
for the heat, humidity and flies, also as someone else said, even though you
come from Texas the distances in Australia are easily skimmed over by those
planning a holiday from abroad. Sydney in Nov will give you a weak taste of
what heat and humidity to expect further North. Having spent time in Texas I
know how hot and humid it gets there, so maybe you would like to get away
from that. If you do then you will truly love Tasmania. Tassie sounds your
cup of tea ( or coffee ) peaceful, easy to drive yourself, make sure you
have a short stay on King Island which is in Bass Strait between the
mainland and Tasmania, situated right in the roaring forties, famous for its
pure dairy products and seafood. Check it out on the net.Wineries are
basically all over the place, there are plenty in Tasmania, can't vouch for
the wine quality tho. Tasmania and King Island are slow, laid back and
pleasantly lagging behind the mainland, that is their big
attraction.Tasmania has many heritage gardens also.
