Hi to everyone,
I'm a climber and I'm planning to go in Australia from the next October
til March (or May) and on the NG rec.climbing a guy said me that in
Vicotria, Gramp-Arap area, in summer the temperatueres goes up to
35-40°C, to hot to climb!
What about the temperature and the wheter at the same time in Tasmania?
Thanks a lot,
Matteo >> Stay informed about: whether Victoria vs Tasmania |

Check out <a rel="nofollow" style='text-decoration: none;' href="http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/" target="_blank">http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/averages/</a> and click on the
respective state. You will then be able to go to various weather stations
for the climate averages there.
Generally though the Grampians can be stinking hot in summer. 41C when we
were there early December 2002. Tasmania around Cradle mountain a few weeks
later was 12C mid morning, warmed up somwhat later but nowhere near 40.

Generally you can expect Tasmania to be cooler than Victoria, most of the
year round. If you're here for six months, you could plan to do Victoria
from October, and go to Tasmania in the hotter months.

Ciao!
ciao

Hi Matteo,
am i now planning a climbing trip in that area for Feb/March/April 2004.
From different websites and articles in magazines i found that from
feb/march onwards Victoria should be ok but december and januari very hot.

February is hottest month in Victoria, more humid with it. the Grampians are
great to climb and starting in Feb accommodation's just gone cheap, the school
holidays ended. April gets some nasty weather, but not often,.plan to climb
in March ya should have a blast and the Grampians have been a park so long
that most of the animals have lost fear of humans, so you get great pics.
Ignore the Canada sender address. I'm on holiday now

Thanks for the info! I forgot to mention that February i plan to stay in
Tasmania (walking, climbing, travelling) before going to Victoria and go to
Victoria in March and towards Sydney in April. From your info it seems like
a good choice. I never realized it would be so hot still in February.
Thanks,
Mark
