You didn't state if it was to be a one way ticket or round trip.
There were recently some good deals from many US cities to both
Australia and New Zealand however you may be too late for these.
Firstly check with your local travel agent.
Check out:

<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.expedia.com" target="_blank">www.expedia.com</a>
or one of the other discounters online
Also check:

<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.qantas,com" target="_blank">www.qantas,com</a>
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.united.com" target="_blank">www.united.com</a>
Are you a member of a frequent flier programme?
If so, check that airline/s website to see who they code share with.
