What part of Canada did you visit? Did you make it to Calgary, Lake Banff &
Jasper? I would love to visit that part of Canada. I would love to see the
Canadian Rockies. If you visited that area did you find some reasonable
motels/hotels to stay in? How far is Banff to Jasper?

Hi,

We were in St. John's Newfoundland in August and found it is "Open
Season" on tourists there.

Do not leave anything of value in your car. We had two camera's stolen
from our trunk which was accessed after breaking the drivers door lock.

Originally we thought this happened at the Avalon Mall while we were at
a movie but did not check the trunk at this point and the drivers door
damage was not noticeable. After the mall we went to the Swiss Chalet
across the road for dinner and then back to the condo where we were
staying, there we discovered the theft.

On our return to Toronto I found out my pharmacist was there just days
after us and had her camera stolen at the same Swiss Chalet.

After the fact we heard so many horror stories about car break-ins that
we are really disappointed that nothing is being done to warn tourists.

Mall security were absolutely obnoxious and did not want to have
anything to do with us.

We had a wonderful trip 'till then, driving across the province and
ferrying to Labrador for a couple of days. Unfortunately all 180 or so
pictures I took were in the stolen camera.

Grrrrrrr!
Bill
