Thank you! And they puff on it for friggin' 35 minutes. I've
changed locations more than one time due to obnoxious cigar smoke.
Exactly, if they're smoking where they are allowed to.....

And for some reason they often think that everyone just loves the
smell so they try to make clouds of smoke. There was one on the beach
in FT. Lauderdale last week doing that. Fortunately he was downwind of
us and there was a decent breeze so we didn't have to smell it.

Since the smoking bans in Maryland and DC I have been enjoying going to
bars again. I had given up going years ago because of the smoke.

I don't think that when the cruise ships go no smoking that there won't
be an option to smoke outside. There will probably also be a small
inside area as an option. On Azamara and Oceania they have an outside
area and an area in one lounge. I think that worked out well on my
Azamara cruise. Very pleasant to be able to enjoy a ship without the
smell and stink.

That's exactly why they need a smoking ban or at least a designated smoking
area on all beaches. At least I can choose the upwind side to sit on.

You're saying "when" as if you know of something that we don't.

We got off the Adverture OTS on Sunday and IIRC, they said something
about all cabins were now non smoking cabins. I don't smoke so I did not
pay that much attention, so someone who knows might be able to set me
straight.

In Upstate NY, when the ban first went in ( a few years ago) there was an
uproar. Some bars and restaurants chose to ignore it and take the fines.
Others accepted it
At first, there was a decrease. But soon - very soon, - more and more
patrons started coming out and frequenting the establishments.

Now, the bars are just as packed - if not more - with a lot of patrons. And
the plus side? You don't go home with your clothes and hair smelling like
stale smoke and your skin feeling slimy from the residue!! Before the
smoking ban, we had to leave our clothes in the garage to air out so as not
to allow the stink to permeate into our home.

My husband and I truly enjoy going out for a night on the town now and not
having to worrying about sore throats and smelly clothes come the morning.

It's just a matter of time. History speaks for itself.

That's the worse!! We had a balcony on our last cruise and some cruiser on
the left side of us smoked the most disgusting smelling cigars and
cigarettes I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing.

Needless to say, the cruise ships need to do something - put the smokers in
balconies on one side of the ship and non-smokers on the other. Something,
please!!!! But putting the puffers next to the non-puffers is not an
option in this day and age!!

There's something wrong when you walk on a beach and along with the sand and
shells, you see the butts from cigarettes and cigars strewn all over the
place. Nasty, nasty.

The problem is only to get worse on balconies as the number of places where
smokers can go is diminished. I try & get a balcony in the forward part of
the ship to minimize the problem. I really don't think cigar smokers realize
how much the smoke bothers others around them.
My vote is for having the smokers in balconies on one side of the ship
toward the rear.

I think it's that they don't care. The fact that many people object
to being around cigar smoke is hardly a secret.

Bet your ass it's a control thing, a "stay away from me" thing and/or a "I
can kick your butt" thing. All machismo like the actors who pose on Cigar
Aficianado all manly and awe-inspiring, aren't they?
