About 3 years ago I was in a Strip restaurant that I much liked
and would like to find out its name and what you guys think about it:
- walk up to the 2nd floor
- polynesian style umbrellas outside
- at the front of the stairway (next to the escalator) there was a
large tub with stone pelicans
- asian food buffet and a mongolian grill (you pick, they cook)
- it was approx $7 at lunch time.

Another one was at the end of the Aladdin mall, seafood buffet
only, great selection, approx. $25 fixed price.

How well do these compare to others? I will be in Vegas in approx.
6 weeks. Thanks all.

The one in the Aladdin mall is "Todai Seafood Buffet"......it should
be still there in what is now called the Planet Hollywood Miracle Mile
shops.

Folks here generally prefer Makino for sushi/seafood buffet...

Unfortunately they have no Strip locations; the closest is in the
Premium Outlet mall just west of the downtown area.

The other place you mentioned sounds vaguely like the Hawaiian
Marketplace on the Strip just north of MGM Grand, but I don't recall
the restaurant you describe or the stone pelicans. Up the escalator
there's now an Indian restaurant called Tamba.

Todai isn't bad at all, but I also like Makino better. My last visit
at Todai was also a few years back. If you want a sushi buffet on the
Strip, Todai is perfectly ok.

Somehow, your description of the other place made me think of the Tiki
bar at the Venetian which has since closed. But I don't remember them
offering mongolian bbq.

Sounds like the Hawaiian marketplace. Unfortunately, the restaurants
there come and go frequently. Last time I was there in October, all
were closed.
