We love Cuba and have holidayed there twice. We are thinking of going this
coming Dec/06 either Sol Club Guillermo, Guillermo or Cameleon Villas
Jibocoa in Veradero. Has anyone any views on either of these resorts?
Thanks.

The Cameleon Villas is a bit old. They are counting on the name of the
SuperClub Breezes Jibacoa in my opinion,
which if you can afford it, go there. This resort is amazing!
The beach is not as nice as Varadero but clean and you can walk for
miles. I personally would not return to the Villas.

Have you looked at Brisas Santa Lucia in Santa Lucia (pronounce Lucea),
Cuba. Our son was married there in
January and I would strongly recommend this resort as a good 3.5*.
Large propery, lots going on all the time,
nice beach (not Varadero though), 24 hour bar, outside disco on the
beach, etc.

Another strong 3.5* would be Club Amigo Bungelows. Do not stay in the
hotel, they are having problems with the
elevators. There is much to do there at the resort all day and night
as well. Besides the 24 hour bar, there are
two Cuban bars on the beach (a minute from the resort and guarded
beach) that have 95% tourists in them and
are great fun, I think we paid $1.50 CUC for a drink there.

Just to allow some reference to yourself, my husband and I are in our
late 40's, travel as 2 so that we may meet a lot
of wonderful and interesting people that we hope to make new friends.

Wherever you decide, Cuba is wonderful and we try to go at our every
opportunity.

Cameleon was called before Venta Club and was occupied by Italians only.
Before Venta it was one of very budget destinations, built possibly in late
70's.
In my opinion it is 1* facility no match to next door Breezes Jibacoa, one
of my favorites in Cuba. I have to disagree with Sunnygirl, one can walk
west from hotels only for about 1.5km and only few hundred meters to the
east.

We stayed at Hotel Barlovento in Varadero. December
before last.

Thought it to be a very good all-inclusive.
