pls help, travel in amsterdam

i and my friends, students, will be travelling in amsterdam on 3 of feb which is winter time.
kindly pls tell us what kind of transport are the cheapest one within the city?strippenkaart or O.V chip better?
can u guys briefly tell me where should i visit from the morning to night?

actually we are planning to go to kinderjiik on the next day..kindly tell me wheter it's worth to visit this place during winter time?
as far as i know..to get there, we have to travel from central station to rotterdam and take metro to a station....
wat is the cheapest way to get there?
