Post subject: road trip across the U.S.
Archived from groups: alt>travel>road-trip (more info?)

2 of us are planning to take a road trip from Seattle ending up in NY.
I'm looking into the options for getting a car. If anyone could help
with the following, that would be great:

1. recommendations for cheap car rental companies. We are both 23 so
don't want to pay any 'young driver surcharge'. Also a company that
doesn't charge a fortune for one-way rental and allows rental for more
than 28 days. Ideally with a pick-up point somewhere in WA (e.g.
Seattle, Everett, Bellingham, etc). We're from the UK so need a company
that accepts UK drivers.

2. If anyone needs a car driven eastwards but doesn't want to do it
themself, we'd be willing to do it and would pay for gas. We'll
consider any route, just reply to the post with contact info. If anyone
knows of any companies that hire drivers on a casual basis, that would
be great.

Thanks
Adam
